Give us some hockey already!!! I think this a real positive step forward however still part of a long process ahead. It just depends on how much time the NHL and NHLPA are willing to spend in "talks".

This

I'm excited to maybe see hockey this year, but let's not forget that it is a complete disgrace that we even missed a single preseason game at all. Waiting til 6 weeks before the season to start talking was unacceptable regardless of the leverage tactics involved. I would say they should all be shot but then I'd get morons who would take it seriously and scold me for post after post so I'll say, They should all be punched.

At this point I don't care if they get a deal done. Both the NHLPA and NHL have rubbed people off the wrong way. I am sincerely looking forward to both their shares of the pie drastically shrinking. These guys need a serious reality check. The owners are plain stupid with the contracts that they give out, and Bettman has been delusional for years in thinking hockey would work in a lot of these non hockey market cities. I man what do stupid owners of these small market teams expect when they give out ridiculous long term 10-15 year contracts to guys whos prime will be no more than another 3 years? They deserve the losses they are incurring no different then the small to medium business that make stupid decisions.
Same goes for the players. What makes them think they are immune to world economics?
I have been a hardcore hockey fan for 20 years now. I plan to watch on T.V and that's as far as I will go. But I will make sure I don't fuel their pockets with any of my hard earned money. No more tickets, or merchandise. For the first time since the series came out in 1992 I also did not buy myself a copy of the EA NHL hockey video game. To the hell with both of them, back soon or not. No more money from me.

I'd like to say I won't give them my money either, but I will. I enjoy going to Scotiabank Place to catch a game or two way too much. As pissed about the lockout as I am I can't lie to myself and say I'll stop everything but hockey night in Canada, I love the game too much.

On the brightside for you, though, the Montreal Impact were a surprise team this year in MLS so their comeptition should be solid next year, giving you something new to latch on to, filling your new sports void.

im still on the fence about watching hockey this year. i feel like i want to boycott but if no one else does, then it is pointless. i do miss hockey, but after being treated like my girlfriend just broke up with me, for no reason, and now she wants to get back together, im not sure taking hockey back is the right thing to do.

what do yall think?

Well I am big NFL fan, and plan on going to a game soon in NY or Buffalo. Unfortunate the NFL season is a short one. Has for the impact I don't care much for them has the quality MLS offers is weak. I do try to follow the EPL and after watching that its hard to watch MLS.

Do what you makes you feel better. regardless of what others do. For me I love the game too much to not watch it on T.V. Our dark winters here also don't help and gives us something to look forward too in the evenings, especially after a long hard boring day at work. You can simply watch the games on television, but at the same time you can do so while not spending any of your money towards anything that will line up their greedy pockets. Its a win win for the fan.

NFL is #2 for me and I agree MLS quality is weak but it's just catching on. It will pick up, never to the level of EPL but it will gain some traction as soccer becomes more popular in North America. The American's scandalous "win" over Canada at the Olympics got the game a lot of attention.

the problem that i face is the only way i can watch hockey is to purchace a hockey package through my satilite company. which sticks money in their greedy pockets. nbc might carry one or 2 games a week. and who know what going on with that deal now. i wonder if nbc is going to drop their contract?????????

Well... are you planning on watching games outside of the pens games? I will certainly not care to follow other teams other than the habs. I will re add RDS (carries all habs games) when they come back. As for the rest ill catch on tsn or CBC. thats about it
